The Himalayan Organisation for Peoples’ Education (HOPE) is a non-political and non-profitable community-based social organisation initiated through the spirit and enthusiasm of the youth of the Himalayan region of Kalimpong, a small town in the Darjeeling district of India.
In the spirit of true social service, in spring of 2003, some energetic young-aged people gathered to share their ideas on the possible progress and development of their village and its people. They intermingled their shreds of dreams to find a way to positively move forward.
As a result they founded the Himalayan Organisation for Peoples’ Education (HOPE).
AFFILIATION:
HOPE is a non-governmental community-based social organisation registered in the Social Welfare Council and NGO federation of India.
VISION:
- Educational awareness for all / mass awareness in Social Dynamics
- HOPE is an organisation of young and energetic people who have the capacity and ability to research and recognize the needs of the locality.
- HOPE believes in "action speaks louder than words".
- HOPE takes action and implements innovative ideas.
